Scaring the witches out of me......

So I'm afraid of everything, forreal everything.  When I was like 8 my mom tempted me with an ice cream to go through the Haunted House at Disney World.  We got through to the middle room before you get on the ride when the lights flickered, all the pictures changed and I screamed and ran out the closest exit sign.

I kept screaming all the way through the outside maze until we got to the front.  I've basically been traumatized for life.

This fear of all things scary even was demonstrated this year when my one friend wanted to go to a haunted attraction for her birthday and I gave it a whirl.  I literally spend the first 2 attractions in the arms of my friend's boyfriends and had my eyes closed the whole time.  The last attraction I booked it for the exit before even going in and stood alone for 15 minutes while my friends got the shit scared out of them. I don't do scary.

I've never watched past seasons of American Horror Story, but when I heard this season was about witches I was determined to give it a shot.  I love the whole witch folklore and history.  When I was in Salem a few years ago I thought the whole thing was just bad ass.  I love Hocus Pocus and Practical Magic, so I decided to watch.

It is crazy, it is messed up, there's a lot of effed up shit going on, but I don't get scared.  I don't have nightmares, I don't wish I had one of my loser ex-boyfriends to hold me after.   I don't really get it, it doesn't make sense but I'm OK with it.  The women are bad ass.

I cannot wait until next season and I plan on catching the previous seasons too since the only one I caught before was when Adam Levine was on.

I was entirely too tired after my Kentucky lost to snap my outfit yesterday but it was leopard print so I loved it  Today's is more about the accessories, and I am obsessed with both pairs of Kendra Scott earrings I have, they just make a statement with a simple outfit. And I look pissed off because it's first thing in the morning.

Tone up Tuesday

Tomorrow we are almost a month into the new year, so it's time for me to get my ass back to the gym on the regular.  This is the first time in a few years I don't have any big race planned, so staying motivated to purely for vain reasons.  I have been eating clean, drinking a lot, so it's time to get back into the gym to work off the alcohol consumption.

I don't know how y'all get motivated but for me it's pure vanity and fashion.  I want to be skinny to get into clothes I'm obsessed with, bottom line.  So leggo!!

Just a TSwift hair flip away....

Last night was Grammy night, which is usually one of my favorites because of my obsession with everything music.  I had a few blown away moments but Imagine Dragons with Kendrick Lamar owned last night.  I in no way saw it coming either, but they just made me want to go to the gym immediately and ROCK out.

My other fave of course was Ms. TSwifty, she performed one of my favorite songs off of Red and did it while playing the piano and flipping her hair like it was on fire.  Then she proceeded to dance her ass off for the rest of the night, that's my girl!

The clothes, OK true confessions, I didn't watch the pre-show.  I went to the gym, made lunch and just was too tired to get into it. But I saw some I fell in love with.

1. Taylor Swift in Gucci- I mean this is exquisite.  This is perfection for her, and I even dig the pony tail.

2. Miranda Lambert in Pamela Rolland-My girl, my songwriting hero, badass mother effer chick Miranda looked SMASHING in red.  I love her tan, I love the earrings, I love the dress. I think she is moving closer to the too skinny section of my life but rock on with your badself Miranda!!

3. Chrissy Teigen in Johanna Johnson-This woman may be one of the most breathtaking women I have ever seen in my life, and she's fucking hilarious if you follow her on Twitter.  This dress just rocks.  I love her with the messy but gorgeous hair and the slit up the front.  She's married to John Legend and the way he sings deserves a women who looks like this.

I'm not doing a worst dressed list, it's the Grammys, everyone gets funky and a little nuts, but Google Madonna and that about sums it up to me.

Seeing Willie Nelson, Chris Christopherson, Merele Haggard and Blake Shelton take the stage and sing  together was an exhibit on why country music is everything to me.  I love these men, I love their music, and I love their grit.  They are what I listened to when I was younger and fell in love with that "blue collar" real country feeling.  They remind me of my Granddaddy and I loved it.   I know the vocals were a little rough, but one man has been smoking weed since 1920 so yo have to forgive him.

I'm not a Madonna fan, but the Macklamore and Ryan Lewis performance was EPIC! I was crying, and just seeing the world move toward the mentality that love is universal no matter who you love is so awesome!

Miranda Lambert and Billie Joe Armstrong sang one of my parent's song's "When Will I Be Loved" by the Everly Brothers, and she just looked stunning.

My 30 day no shopping was maintained this weekend! Sorry for the terrible selfies, but they're keeping me accountable.

Hi, I'm EMJ and I'm a Shopaholic

OK, y'all, I was doing really, really well with the no shopping thing.  I walked the mall, not even getting tempted. My email was flooded with discounts, and I was snowed in for 2 days and I kept it together!  Then, I had a Courtney Loves Dallas Marathon while I was on the treadmill last night, and all this BaubleBar talk just got to me.  I saw Courtney Kerr's accessories and I caved, OK.

It was just a tiny mistake, and I got 15% off as a new user so it was basically what I would spend on a sushi dinner, so it's cool.  I'm totally back on the wagon. Promise.

Moving on, so y'all know my love for Courtney Loves Dallas, I tweet like it's my job and I realized why.  It's been since Bethenny was on Bravo that there's been a show I feel like is for real.  Like real girls, real situations and real reactions.  I don't see this upstaging thing like happens in the Housewives franchise with fights every season.  I don't see fake friendships for the camera that you know disappear until there's a dude holding a camera in front of their faces again.  These are real girls, who are fighting for a career, and that's what I loved about Bethenny Frankel being on Bravo.

As a 20 something girl who isn't in a relationship, who has friends that are family, and dreams big, there just aren't enough of us on TV.  I love that these girls are real friends, they have legit fights, they have legit dreams, and they have too many cocktails and love brunch.  Those are all things that are going on in my life.  We're the lost age of single girls, we're older than 25 and not married and working our asses off.

We have girlfriends who aren't jealous or envious for what the other has, but we want the best and we push each other.  We don't fight over who wore what, or whom stole who's boyfriend (I never get the "who" vs. "whom" thing) we love each other and want the best for each other.  We don't want our BFF to end up with that asshole guy she can't seem to kick (me), or want our other BFF to find her worth outside of having a boyfriend (my friends).

Throw some ex-bf drama and some serious fashion and we have my favorite Bravo show since Bethenny Frankel's series!  I wish, hope, will beg for Bravo to have a season 2 and make it a full hour.  Girls need to see this in a TV line up with our favorite Housewives and Chefs, please!

Sister, Sister

I stopped by a girl's night my sister was having at her condo on Saturday night before I went out and what happened is the usual when I meet new friends of hers: "This is your sister?".  We don't particularly look a lot alike

She and I are very yin-yang.  She looks like my Dad and Mom to a T, brown hair, brown eyes, huge smile.  I am a hodge-podge of every family member we have ever had.  I have green eyes and blonde hair from my grandfather, and the rest of my look is your best bet on a family member.  My whole life has been a running joke that I am adoped.

She's loud, bossy, a huge flirt, and is so sweet and charming it knocks you out.  I am more laid back, sarcastic, quiet when needed, and not sweet.  She has had a boyfriend since I was probably 8, I have had probably 2 people I've even been able to stomach calling my boyfriend my whole life pubicly.  She wears her heart on her sleeve and does things I wouldn't even dream I could get away with.

Believe it or not, I'm the more emotional one and the crier, she's the strong one who rarely sheds a tear. She is my best friend, no one knows me or loves me like she does and the feeling is mutual.  We couldn't look more different but I wouldn't be me without her.

Always fun to explain to someone how we know each other though, and their reaction when someone freaks out that we're sisters.  Yes she's the pretty one.....

Day #1 of my 30 day ban from shopping outfit (I'll get better at this it's too early for me):

Mo shopping, Mo problems

Alright, we all know (and by "we" I mean me) I have a shopping issue. I love clothes, I love pieces, I love a good print, and I rarely have any money.  I am single and own a home, so I have no money.  I have limited freakin funds right now but I always feel like I need a new outfit for anything.

I have compiled a serious collection of clothing, yet I always think I need something else.  I am doing a self-imposed 30 day shopping ban.  I will go 30 days without buying myself any new piece of clothing (barring like a bra emergency or something).  I will dig into my closet and make outfits out of what I have.

I am also trying to push myself into looking better and putting more thought into what I put together everyday.  I want to be more creative and take risks and not just phone it in because I go into the same office with the same job everyday.  I need to show on the outside what I love so much.

This is going to create a lot of selfies and a lot of fashion posts, I apologize in advance.  I will keep up with the snarky comments as well. You can always follow me on Twitter or Instagram too if you need more info.

P.S. We're starting on Monday!!

Top of my lungs

Y'all know by now my love for everything music and that includes musical competitions.  Well two new ones have begun and I'm already full on invested, of course.  The Voice UK and American Idol started this week.  Now I haven't watched much of American Idol, especially since Steven Tyler stopped judging and it was all Mariah vs. Nicky.

I love, love, LOVE this year's judging panel for American Idol! I love JLo coming back, Keith Urban is probably my favorite live performer and Harry Connick Jr. is a legend in music.

Onto The Voice UK, so they've replaced Jesse and Danny with Kylie Minogue and Ricky.  Now I'm in no way familiar with Ricky, I YouTubed his band and I'm still lost.  He's super talented but I'm just not invested, and I was in love with Danny.  I adore Kylie, but she's not Jessie  J, so the only person I'm for real rooting for is will.i.am.

I can't wait to find new voices and new music.  I love finding a new perspective, but I have low expectations for American Idol since I've lost interest early in the last few years.  My people in the UK are usually more reliable in finding some real, different talent, so we shall see.  Dude a chick did a harp accompaniment to "Get Lucky"!

I hope everyone is having a good week! I feel like my life is getting ready for a crazy take off.  Anyone interested in The Voice UK it's on YouTube!
